I can't tell you how excited I got when one of my clients said  'I have access to a farm, will that work for pictures?' UMMM….YA!  If I had the opportunity, I would buy a farm and turn it into my studio all year round.  I'm so not kidding!  The textures, the landscape, the space..it's ALL perfect for fun, artistic photos.  So, imagine my excitment when I was contacted from France to book a family session on a farm in Norway.   I couldn't have imagined a nicer setting and the images are some  of my faves! Here are a few (ok LOTS) of them.

Thank you so much to all of you Benedikte, I had a wonderful time playing with the boys and I do think you grew up in paradise!!

Oh my gosh Lisa. You are honestly one of the best family portrait photographers I’ve ever seen. You have a such a killer style and your editing is amazing. You definitely have a new subscriber here 🙂

Great use of the gorgeous environment and beautiful family.

  • Nichole Olsen19 August, 2009 - 23:49

Completely gorgeous. WOW Mom and Dad are going to LOVE these. What an absolutely stunning location!!!! 🙂

  • Brandi19 August, 2009 - 23:46

Every single images is positively gorgeous!! I’m the same way, in fact I told my husband on the weekend that I wanted to buy a farm and turn it into my ‘studio’, lol!

I find that photography has really blossomed into something more than just taking photographs and clicking the shutter.   It's almost become an addiction. I'm addicted to the smell only newborns have (I always said if I could bottle up Eau de baby I would be seriously wealthy), I'm addicted to watching the look of facination, love and utter joy new parents have when watching their babies and I'm addicted to capturing these moments for them to enjoy forever.   I have the greatest job in the world in my humble opinion.  As I witness the daily changes of my own growing children, I find myself reminiscing on their own first few weeks of life every time I get a newborn in front of my lens.

So with that little paragraph of seriousness, I would like to introduce the first set of twins to be photographed by Fotografix Studios.  Can I get a woo and a hoo?  Bastian and Theodor. Two absolutely BEAUTIFUL baby boys who made my heart go pitter patter.  I loved every second of working hard with Vibeke getting the boys to sleep, setting up the shots and photographing these two sweet brothers.

Virkelig flott. 🙂

Lisa these are soooo gorgeous. What a wonderful job you always do. Quality stunning images every time! 🙂

I hope everyone has been having a wonderful summer (hopefully outside of Norway on a beach somewhere, since it has been raining or chilly pretty much every day since I've been back from the US!).  I wanted to drop in and post an update as I know there are lots of anxious people out there waiting to see their images!

First of all, I will be taking a break from new sessions up until the 31st of August (although special circumstances are always taken into consideration).  I am upgrading my computer systems and trying to finish up some exciting projects as well as create my commercial and editorial website.  Not to mention the gazillion sessions I need to edit!  So out of fairness to my existing customers, I really need to prioritize getting their images completed and ready for viewing.   For the time being, any enquiries should be directed to lrostoen@hotmail.com until I get my new email up and running.

There has been a ton of exciting and new things happening at Fotografix Studios which is why I have sorely neglected my blog.  If I could add 5 more hours of awake time to my day (pleasantly awake that is) I would be a happy camper!  Alas, no matter how much I beg and plead, I still only get a 24 hour day (although my day seems to end faster than others for some reason HAHAHA).

For those of you waiting to view your images, I really appreciate you being patient! I had quite a few issues with my computer and internet connection while in the US so the majority of my workload had to be postponed until my vacation/business trip was over.  I am working diligently to get your images to you as quickly as possible.  I hand edit all images you will be viewing in your slideshow and unfortunately, this does take a little time!

I hope you continue to have a wonderful summer, lets keep our fingers crossed that we will once again feel the sun on our faces here in Norway!

I can't believe I once had 2 tiny beings that were so tiny, you were almost afraid to breathe on them (now at almost 7 and almost 4, I'm lucky if I can get them to slow down long enough to catch a kiss blown from the palm of my hand).

There is something about that newborn smell that can make the biggest Grinch turn into a mushy, gushing, smiling mess.  A newborn baby just makes you smile – knowing that no matter what else is wrong in this world, that for this one moment, you hold hope and promise in the palm of your hands.

Mr Parker was no different than any other newborn I've had in front of my lens. Wholesome, curled up sleepy goodness, puckered lips and a desire to tuck him into my pocket to take home 🙂 . Thank you so much Allison and Peder for letting me photograph the newest prince in your lives!

Beautiful images Lisa!! You do such lovely newborn work:)

  • Heather1 June, 2009 - 21:26

These are fantastic! I love love LOVE the first one! Beautiful light!

Yes, I feel like I have been in the land of Oz, somewhere over the rainbow and many times have I said to Even – " I don't think we're in Kansas anymore" LOL.  Seriously though, all humor aside, I just wanted to apologize that I've neglected my blog over the past couple of months!  There have been numerous things going on, deaths, illnesses, aches and pains, work work work, most importantly, family, my husband and my boys!  Add that all up and there aren't many hours left in the day!

Hopefully I am now back on the right track, have put the toughest part behind me and am now moving forward into this beautiful spring season.  Spring is the time for re-birth and that is how I feel at the moment!  Being outside shooting again has certainly done alot for my spirits. I just LOVE being outdoors and the images produced by using nature as a backdrop just have that something special.

Over the next week or so I'll be posting images from my latest photo shoots so stay tuned for some GORGEOUS babies, especially my first set of twins!

Spring is also the time for confirmations. Photo sessions for confirmants are the equivalent of a senior (siste år på vidergående skole) session in the US.  Session slots are filling up quickly – if you are interested in confirmation images that are unique, send an email so I can get you on the books!  I actually recommend doing your photoshoot on a different day than your confirmation. It allows us all to relax, we aren't dependent on the weather and you can change clothing, allowing you a large variety of images reflecting both traditional dress and your own budding personality.

Spring, especially early May, is also the time for hvitveis.

Take care and I wish everyone a wonderful spring Thursday!

Spring is beautiful indeed. I have to say, if you would move back home to America, you would get it a lot sooner, since we are much closer to summer now. 😉 Your very loving MOM!
